Our foodie Anne Travel Foodie made these sushi jars. Sushi jars are great for a picnic or a barbecue. We made a salmon-avocado version but of course you can choose your own favorite ingredients. Below is the recipe for 2 lovely sushi jars!
1/2 a pack of sushi rice (250 grams)
1 sushi nori sheet
1 salmon filet (around 150 grams), chopped
1 1/2 avocados, sliced
1 tbs mayonnaise mixed with wasabi paste
1 tbs sesame seeds
Prepare the sushi rice as stated on the package, let cool completely. Cut two lines from the nori sheet. You can use this to place at the bottom of the jars. Now you can layer the jars as wished. We added a layer of sushi rice, a layer of avocado, another layer of sushi rice, a tbs of the mayonnaise mix, a layer of salmon and we ended with a layer of avocado.
We sprinkled the sushi jars with sesame seeds. You can save them in the fridge until serving, or until your picnic!
